As many of you will have seen the government announced a economic stimulus package on the 17 March in response to COVID-19 situation.

Part of this package is to address those on benefits. The changes which will be seen on benefits are a $25/week increase for main benefits from the 1 April which will be permanent, a doubling of the Winter Energy Payments from the 1 May and the removal of the hours test for the In Work Tax Credit.

Currently it is unclear as to effect this will have on supplementary benefits, hardship grants and stand down periods.
